Structural Forum is a full-day event, hosted by the Cal Poly SEAOC and AEI student chapter annually to connect structural engineering professionals and students. The event includes two portions, occurring in the morning and evening. The day program will be held on Cal Poly's campus and will feature presentations from three distinguished individuals in the structural engineering field. This portion is free for all to attend. The evening program, held at the Madonna Inn Expo Center, consists of a resume-free career fair followed by a three-course dinner banquet and keynote speaker. Structural Forum provides students a unique opportunity to interact with professionals in the structural engineering field and companies with the chance to promote their firms and recruit aspiring students.

Structural Forum will be following San Luis Obispo County / Cal Poly COVID-19 safety guidelines. We will not be asking attendees to show proof of vaccination but we will be enforcing wearing masks. We encourage all attendees test before attending. Your safety and well-being is our highest priority.
Students: Please have your campus pass (Green smiley face) ready when entering facilities.

David Mar, SE
David Mar is the founder of Mar Structural Design, based in Berkeley, California. He has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He has 30 years of experience working in California and across the US, where he has led numerous projects that have utilized innovative design to increase seismic resilience.
David Mar seeks to couple creativity and cutting-edge technical skills to design innovative structures that go beyond a minimum code-compliant design. With a focus on unusual and challenging projects, he aims to leverage design with state-of-the-art analysis, opening new opportunities for invention, architectural expression and high-performance. His areas of specialization are seismically resilient designs, sustainable designs, and buildings with expressed structure.
